I’m not really the type to listen to music while working — mostly ’cause depending on the job, I’ve got ear protection on or something, so I can’t hear a thing anyway.

But a while back, especially with jobs that don’t need heavy machinery or anything, I started getting into the habit of putting some music on.

It all kicked off when one of my clients was already there, sitting in his little spot, and had music playing. Thought I actually managed to focus better with it in the background.

Hit the play button while you read the post! See if this works for you!

It’s like my brain locked into this groove where nothing could throw me off

… and I liked it! So yeah — result? It’s been four years now, and every chance I get, I’ve got music on. Wanna know the weird bit?

I always, always listen to the same songs. No clue what’s even in my playlist anymore, not even the melodies really… seems like they work better (for me anyway…) when the rhythm’s familiar but the song itself isn’t quite my vibe or something I know too well.

I hardly ever sing along (I don’t know the lyrics, to be fair…) but I do catch the melody here and there. Don’t know why my brain works like that. Maybe a psychologist could shed some light, but that’s how it is.

Soon as I hit play, it’s like my brain slips into a trance …properly automatic …and honestly… I HAVE NO IDEA WHO’S PLAYING (to be honest, I usually do know them, but I do not know the lyrics for sure!)

Sometimes someone will ask what I’m listening to and here comes the awkward moment… I haven’t got a clue — and I’ve been listening to them for over four years… how mad is that?

Anyway, give it a go, and I’ll say this with full confidence — the garden loves music, the wildlife loves music, and my brain? My brain absolutely loves those beats.

And no… I’m not sharing my playlist here … but I can suggest a few bits if you’re curious. Just don’t expect bangers I’d normally choose. You know those tunes you don’t like… but you don’t hate either? Those are the ones. They just work… and if it’s a cover version (again… works for me, might not for you) or an acoustic one, it seems to work even better.

Honestly, these bands should be sponsoring me at this point, right? I’ve been rinsing their songs for four years, nearly every day, sometimes multiple times a day! And I’ve got no idea who they even are — all I do is give ’em views, boost their stats, and I don’t even complain! Hehe
